Mehul Kumar, the man who gave the cinegoers hits like Tirangaa, Krantiveer and others is a troubled man today. The reason? Well, he has been arrested after an Andheri Court issued a non-bailable warrant against him in a case of funds' misappropriation. The case cites back to the year 2006 when he was dragged to the court by PEN's Jayantilal Gada, after he allegedly misused a loan that was given to him in building a mall in Jamnagar, whereby he was supposed to utilize that money to make a feature film.
PEN's lawyer Anjana Baxi said that the Supreme Court has already rejected Kumar's anticipatory bail application. Meanwhile, Jayantilal Gada said that they are happy that Mehul Kumar (who is presently lodged in Arthur Road jail) has been taken into custody.
